Development Activities: THRIVE Vocational Training Programme

Aiming to develop future entrepreneurs who are committed to proving quality of services to the rural areas. It is a one year totally residential course for nearly 20 students.

GENERAL INFORMATION OF THE COURSE

The course is of one-year duration.
It is totally residential for the students and instructors
The total students intake is around 20.
The course will commence from 1st January and will end on 31st December.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

10TH Class or Intermediate passed or failed students. The selection will be through an interview process and priority will be given to the tribal students.
Priority will be given to those who has strong motivation to become entrepreneurs and are inclined for learning skilled work through field and on the job training.

CONTENT OF THE COURSE

The students start with a general orientation of the economy of the rural community. They will be given through training in
English language before they start training in a specialized trade.

3. Electrical and electronics with more focus on developing a small scale industry
4. Computer hardware and software

MAIN EMPHASIS OF THE COURSE

> The student is oriented to the customer-focused service.
> Students will learn to calculate cost/alternative cost of a service or productivity.
> Students will learn to give the best of the quality to the customer/community

RURAL ENERGY ENTREPRENEUR

THRIVE has incorporated a module which develop rural youth into Rural Energy Entrepreneurs, and enables them make a living from catering to the non-conventional energy needs in the rural areas and off-grid areas.

This module motivates the youth and installs in them a spirit of entrepreneurship. THRIVE arms them with the right tools and knowledge of technologies and even provides exposure to working THRIVEs LED Lighting Programme through this module.
