THRIVE Resource
Center
Resource center (a model livelihood center) with housing
for families, staff, community halls, training halls and
computer center, soil and water testing lab, has been developed
near Chintapally in a 20 acre campus. The center has a
comprehensive water conservation project with a huge watershed
and storage tanks and drip irrigation systems in place.
Thrive conducts the experiments and also through filed testing
of any product or process in the field center. The field center
does not have 24 hrs electricity and piped water facility and as
well cable telephone.
The rural engineering course is conducted in the resource center
as there are all the workshops and laboratories located.
Mechanical workshop generally renders service to the nearby
farmers and others in maintaining and repairing the implements
and tractor parts etc.
There is almost every type of equipment/tool or facility for
making sheet metal work, fabrication, lathe work, water or
chemical testing, electrical winding, circuit design and PCB
making, soldering and others.

THRIVE Campus has extensive Solar facilities, Wind Turbine and
half of the energy requirements are met though solar.
at present most of
the THRIVE computers are laptops and they run directly on the 12
volts DC batteries which are charged on the mains and as well on
the solar.
