Development
Activities: THRIVE's Governing Principles
 |
No funds
will be sought from outside
agencies/government/community for the maintenance of
THRIVE.
|
 |
Funds will
be generated through income generating activities in LED
lighting, Training and agriculture, .
|
 |
Till now
the operational expenditure gaps will be funded from the
personnel funds of the founding members.
|
 |
Thrive
believes in Action research and projects are undertaken
in RURAL ICT, water-conservation, energy conservation,
ecology development, rural connectivity and livelihood
training.
|
 |
THRIVE
feels that any project or item that costs more than 500
$ a unit is useless for any village. If that project or
unit is of use to villagers the money can always be
raised from that village.
|
 |
Similarly
any unit or project item should not require maintenance
for at least an year and should not depend on continuous
availability of electricity and other conditions that
ideal projects would assume.
|
 |
THRIVE
would document every experiment, innovation, failure and
success and try best disseminate to the community.
|
At present THRIVE
accepted the development market place award as the entire
proceedings go to help the tribals and no overheads are charged
from the DM award. THRIVE needed to go to these kind of higher
forums to gain recognition to some of the products and processes
developed and they need national and international dissemination
and wider spread.
This principle is already getting proved with several number of
enquiries and test orders coming from several countries for LED
based home lighting.
